Black interior - too hot in summer?

Those who have black interiors - how do you find it in summer time? Too hot, bearable, or makes no difference between black/brown/beige?
I'm living in Ontario, btw.

IMHO, most interiors are too hot in the summer. Slight tint goes a long way. Black is noticeably worse, but not worth avoiding it due to that...especially in your climate.

I have tints, I live in the UK and in the summer still have to leave the windows open for a few seconds before getting in to let the stuffy air get out.

Doesn't make a difference really, even the tint's don't help noticeably.

Black definitely gets hot in the summer, no idea if the other colours are as bad or not though. Helps if you can remember to close the cover to the sunroof when getting out of the car. I tend to forget to do that though......

Get the color you like, you'll be fine. Especially in Toronto. If it's getting too hot for you, just add tint or just get one of those cheap reflective screens for when you park. It's a small interior with good air flow, so cooling down isn't a problem.

An X1 with black leatherette sitting in the summer sun will feel like an oven. even with moon roof shade closed. I have good Huber optik window tint which helps some but it's still pettry hot. some days The steering wheel is so hot I cannot hold it for any length of time.

a good reflective front windshield screen is a must have. as is window tint. putting your windows down before sitting helps evacuate the the heat and odor from offgassing from materials used inside the car. bimmian.com sells nice towels to cover the seats to protect from heat.

No idea, didn't really pay attention to % of tinted cars in Florida But I have tinted my current car, and it makes a lot of difference

the steering wheel leather cover, and in hot days I have to use gloves the temp on it gets up to 200°F, and have tinted all the windows plus I use those windshield sun folders.

I have the black Nevada leather interior and it's pretty hot, I'm in Texas and tint and a BMW Sunshade is a must and make a HUGE difference. The added benefit is your car's interior is shielded from the sun reducing wear and tear.

The parked-car ventilation blows air into the
passenger compartment to lower interior temperatures.
The system can be switched on and off at any
external temperature, either directly or by using
a preset switch-on time. It remains switched on
for 30 minutes.
Since the system uses a substantial amount of
electrical current, refrain from activating it twice
in succession without allowing the battery to be
recharged in normal operation between use.
Open the vents to allow air to flow out.
They can be operated via iDrive.

2. "Climate"
3. "Activate parked-car vent."
The symbol on the automatic climate control
flashes if the system is switched on.

I noticed this a when I first got the car, but it was greyed out when selecting it. In BMW tradition, figured there was some kind of package required to enable that?

Black exterior, black Nevada leather interior, Texas, 103F today...
But with Huper Optik tint and a reflective windshield screen, I have never sat on a seat that was too hot or burned my hand on the steering wheel.

I do use the cabin ventilation timer, if I remember.

I have no issue in my black leather. The is White with 20% tint and front windshield sun shade.

I use the timed ventilation every day. Set it to come on at 4.50pm so it is working when i leave the office at 5. Makes the hotter days slightly more bearable until the aircon gets cold. Although i'm talking Northern England here - never gets too hot!!

Too stuffy in England getting in the car after a warm day is horrible!

Well mine is black leather. Its hot, but I have aircooled cars also, so just depends what your scale is..

I'm guessing anything over 18C is hot where you live.

I do notice that my Nevada leather interior in black get noticeably hotter than my wifes Scion XB with black cloth.
