Service Pack on new X1 - worth it?

Hi guys,

In process of buying a new X1 for the wife. Never bought a new BMW before but was offered a service pack for £300. When I asked what this includes the salesman said "all servicing costs" for the sooner of 5 years or 60k miles.

Given that a single oil service is probably £150/£200 at a dealer these days, the service pack seems like good value for money. Almost too good in fact.

So I just thought I'd see if anyone has had a service pack and had any issues/come across any service items which aren't covered?

Cheers,
Lee

Take it, its a bargain at £300. I have not had to use it for the X1 yet but have the same on the Mini. Saves you loads from about your second service.

Only real downside is that the service schedule is determined by your car or BMW, you cannot have it serviced when you want.

As said, all prices are on the BMW website, along with what is included.

For the lazy bastards out there I have attached the screenshots.....

Nope, as shown above it's only £300 here in the UK. Bit of a no brainer not to take it. Saying that I don't do the miles for the plus one.

I got it thrown in as part of my deal - push for it for free to 'close' the deal.

It was the last thing I pushed them on when I placed my order. I don't really do tons of miles but it's worth it that's for sure.

As you can see, they are charging 1700 for 5 years 60000 miles Service Plus, and in India they have quoted me nearly 3000, I am not sure what to do

Agree with Senwar, use it as a bargaining tool to close the deal. Alternatively (as one of my friends did recently), email all the dealers, stating that whoever includes the servicing for free gets your business.

BTW in Hong Kong, servicing package included in the price for free.

That is steep. What are the service intervals? Can you get quotes for service costs? Judge from there and decide.

Thats a good idea, I will call them for the quote, Thank you, I think if there is no more than 20 % diffrance in that I will go for service plan or take a risk if its more than 20%.
