RF Tire damage during mounting?

Hi!

I just bought a good set of used tires (Pirelli sotozero) for my X1. I noticed that one of them is damaged on the inside near the bead, which was probably hurt during a previous unmount. A guy I know who owns a tire shop told me the tire is still good and this kind of damage on the inside lip sometimes happen during unmounting (specially with RFT since they are more stiff).

Anybody experienced something similar? Are your tires in mint condition after unmounting or its normal that some chunks go away in the process?

I personally bought winter rims to avoid potential mounting damage each year. The lady I bought the set from was swapping tires each winter.

Here's a picture: https://www.dropbox.com/s/robhhzxdhs...57.35.jpg?dl=0

Any input is welcome !

I'm no expert but seems as long as it still makes a strong seal, there are no slits/cuts that could trade, and the rubber isn't too thin it should be fine.

Though that's why I would never swap tires, always fill sets of wheels.

Almost all tires get that damage during demount.

As long as bead not bent, broken, or stretched, it should be fine.

Thanks to both of you for confirming!
