Exhaust End

My exhaust end is Aluminium. Is yours a chrome tip accessory part. Cannot get any information for slide on chrome section. Might have look at other makes or get exhaust shop to cut end pipe and replace with chrome one. Any sugestions or help, thanks.

No LeMans blue love? I haven't found one in person to look at as I'm on the fence over whether or not I'll get this color.

I'd love to get some decent pics of mine, but the weather wasn't playing nicely for me before our vacation. We'll see if it does any better after we get back home tomorrow.

That'd be awesome! TIA

Question...does it get a slight purple-ish hue to it under certain lighting conditions? The second front 3-quarter view and one of the rear 3-quarter pix from Bora give off a slightly purple hue. I'm not sure if that's an artifact of what seems to be a high sun and perhaps the surrounding when the photos were taken or maybe a function of how the white balance on the camera was set. Otherwise, it seems to be a lighter (than midnight blue) but still deep blue. Kind of lighter than Interlagos and Avus (yum for both) but darker and deeper than Laguna.

Actually....Bora's pix depress me a bit because we don't get the 6sp manual.

Not as standard. ....they're the BMW performance brakes. They certainly look nice, but they're not really a massive upgrade over your 35i items in terms of actual stopping power.

It was Bora's original post that helped me decide which wheels to have fitted to my X1. Regarding the brakes, on asking BMW UK about the performance brakes fitted to Bora's X1 I was told that "due to the weight of the vehical we would not advise fitting them".

This is what the wheels look like against Space Grey. IMO they look great, but are difficult to clean due to a 'channel' behind the 'spokes'.

Coilover suspension, summer wheels/tires on followed by a quick wash as it was dirty/dusty as heck. Still only mediocre phone pics on the driveway, but better than nothing for now.

How much is that lowered? I love how the X1 turns into a "normal" height hatchback pretty quickly with a few inches of drop! :P

About 2.5" all round. I currently have the rears set as high as they can (confortably) go height wise.

Thumbs up

Looks Fantastic. Please advise wheel and tyre sizes. Offsets. If spacers used. How lowered. BMW tell me maximum width on front is 8". They also say to much deviation on the front of xDrives could interfere with the front drive transmission. I have MY11.5 sDrive 20d, am an old guy not mechanically minded. I intend getting bigger wheels/tyres to replace my standard 17x7.5's. I have made many phone and inquiries over a long period of time and have been given conflicting answers as to whats best/fits, can/cant do for the X1's. Your's is nice, neat and has that turn heads factor.

GTony,

Check out this thread http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=776655

It has all the details about what he did with his X1. I'm doing a similar set up but a bit less aggressive.
