Post Parking light and bell sound

Every so often, when slowing down, a bell rings and the display reads 'Parking'.
I'm pretty sure we don't have automatic parking. Anyone else get this?
It's a UK spec X1 manual XLine.

Not sure if we're missing out on something or if there's some kind of fault. I can't find anything in the manual. Planning to ask the dealer at the first service, but nice to find out sooner.

It sounds like your handbrake is engaging or the sensor is tripping. Hopefully the dealer will able to replicate it and fix it.

youre parking break is loose, give it a look or bring it into the dealer if you have a warranty, its a real simple fix, if the sensor is broken, bust out the check book could cost a little.

It's a manual gearbox, so no parking brake. It's a different light to the one when you put the handbrake on.

Could be bad wiring in brakepad wear sensors, they are finicky.

I meant Handbrake not parking brake.
