TPMS 'Inactive'

So my X1 is a 2014, I have owned this for the last 3.5 years, never replaced the TPMS valves.

The other day, the system popped up and says 'Inactive' with no reset option at all.

I checked for codes, nothing.

So, is this likely to be the TPMS valves themselves or could there be an issue else where, but I would have expected a code if that would be the case?

Also, if I am to replace the TPMS valves, do I need them codes to the car?

Are aftermarket one from ebay any good, or any recommendations?

Dead battery so a new sensor. No coding needing. We have two sets of wheels (winter/summer) and swap 2x year. I bought OEM as I got a deal with the wheels (also BMW).

Thanks Mate, I have just ordered 4 gen ones from ebay tonight, hopefully get them fitted this weekend and get the warning away!
