Standard tail lights

Hi all

Ordered mine end of October. ETA 02/2011
Have a Q about the tail lights. I didn't opt for the Xenon package. Does that mean it won't have the stripy candle light-like tail lights either?

I saw one on the street the other day and it had faily simple illumination in the rear.. Can any of you guys driving cars with standard lights confirm?

cheers
B

Confirm: I have no xenon lights, and the tail lights are pretty simple looking ones, instead of the fancy stripes as very nicely depicted e.g. here:

http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353665

Also, only the sidemost part of the tail lights are illuminated, as opposed to the whole width of the lights.

Hey, but don't worry, you'll never see it from the inside! (unless you go reverse towards a biiig mirror )

thanx nathan.
That's what I thought.

Sure, doesn't bother me when driving, it's purely a vanity thing

Maybe all it takes though is to fit some leds or bulbs in there? Wonder if there's an after market fix for that..
Anybody here know that?

I can't imagine BMW would make an entirely different light box for the rear end just to differ between these two options...

As a matter of fact, I was also wondering if it was possible to have an aftermarket fix... the red stripes look sooo much better! Keep me updated if you found a solution!

Some dealership events are coming up surrounding the launch of the new X3.
In case I drop by my local one, I'll ask and let you know. cheerio

The strip ligth came only with xenon option.
As you get the car only at 02/2011 you may order to change to the xenon Pack.
Mine have xenon pack and it's very diferent from standard ligths. Recomended

Bom dia, Xeins..
it's a company car order, mate. Don't feel much for redoing the paperwork.
if not, I might have followed your suggestion.

Redoing all the paperwork will be compensated by a better look and more security as you drive at night. Go for me…
