Hi mileage CPO. Questions

Found a 2013 X1 x28i with ALL of the right colors/options. Kinda rare brown leather seats. However it's got 47,000 mi. Still....it'd give me 2+ years of warranty. It's $26k. I've known the gm of the dlrshp forever, really good guy. Trust him so there's that.

What else should I think about? Ask about?

Seems like the choice is: wait for a lower mileage vehicle with same colors/options which may not come along, or go for the one I want, and take a bit of a risk on the miles.

Discuss.
Thx (and yes, I'm a noob). But I did search various words on this, and didn't find anything directly related.

Seems like a lot for that many miles, at least to me. I picked up my pretty loaded 2014 with 20K miles for $27K and change.

When going the CPO route you kind of have to decide how you prioritize things like color, options, lines, miles, price and of course how quickly you want the car and then be ready to jump when a good option presents itself.

There is certainly a lot to be said about buying from someone you trust and have a good relationship with.

Another factor to consider is how many miles a year do you drive and how long do you plan on keeping the vehicle.

Thanks.

Yes, so maybe 12,500 mi per year. Mostly commute. When i've loved a car i've kept it 5 or 6 years. If hate, or problems then jettison after a couple, (or when warranty runs out.).

I supposed the other route is to simply negotiate down on price. In other words...with another $1500 off...that pays for the first big repair after warranty.

I tend to base things on a 100K miles minimum, so at 12.5K miles a year you would be pretty good for 5 years.

I would certainly try to negotiate the price down.

Also, this is kind of a basic thing, but make sure you are using the vehicle in-service date to figure out how long you will have left on the CPO warranty.
