I am not crazy, just truthful. I have some of my post already in MS WORD just copy and paste it. I hate when people want to LIE on the internet about who is at fault when it comes to restaurant service. Anyone with any COMMON SENSE knows if you are brought the completely wrong food from your own server, don't you think your server should KNOW WTH you ordered from their written order, huh?

Just because you said that, bad service will now get a 1% tip. I actually like when they spit in my food. I find that it adds a deeper flavor profile.

Service is just as shit as anywhere because the tip is expected. Short of the server cutting your throat with a rusty blade you tip, service level has little to no effect.

someone help me out here. Im in Cali so answers may vary, but do waiters get minimum wage at least or is the myth true where they don't? in cali they share tips and it's taxed I hear. is this true also? sadly I have the mentality of "I don't get tipped for doing my job at work"
but anyways I just double the tax for tip. |

as a server i can tell you that tipping does effect the service provided, and return customers are remembered both positively and negatively. i go to work to make money, and i bust my ass to do so. there are plenty of positions and at the very least in my restaurant, serving is by far the most work. i have had discussions with friends regarding tipping, and what happens if a store paid a decent wage to the server and discouraged tipping. my thought is this, interactions will suffer as will the overall experience. for me specifically and those other seasoned servers that are skilled in the trade, and run circles around the others, would get shafted. when others are overwhelmed and must be skipped, i pick up extra tables. this isnt a problem now since i am compensated for it (more tables=more tips), if im making a set wage (similar to others) theres no chance in hell that im taking extra tables. possibly more relevant to a no tip restaurant [NTR], you wont keep servers (at least worth keeping), at a wage that is reasonable to be expected. I Make on average $30/hr (about 4x MW). say you want to pay me $20/hr and no tips, ill go elsewhere. again i go to work to earn money. at a NTR the people you keep will be of lesser quality. so unless every place changes at the same time, no place will change. |
