Retrofit Paddle Shift
Has anyone tried to retrofit paddles to x1, you can buy m3 DCT steering wheel off ebay, BMS sells wiring kit for 135 and 335 series, isnt x1 same platform especially since we got the 6at trans in 35i models, BMS said they have not tried it yet as they have no donor car to use, has anyone tried?

Should be the same. My X1 M-Sport wheel is the same as in the E82 and E9x.
Someone has to be the first to try it...might as well be you. Did you not order paddles...or got caught in paddle-gate? The dealers may have an option to retrofit for those who got screwed soon. |

I think it will work, but I don't have any experience with the paddles. I retrofitted the M5 wheel on my E39 years ago, quite simple to swap wheels once you know how to remove the steering wheel and airbag.

Check with the service guys at the dealership and make sure it's possible. Some owners tried this with our Infiniti M, and there was some cabling difference in the neck as well as the paddles. Not worth effort/cost in that case.

I got paddles on my 14 X1 M Sport s28i and never use them.
Maybe I'm a less is more guy, and I did use them on steep hill in Germany, but I used the stick on steep hill in Colorado. I even took my car to the track, and I just don't think I'm coordinated enough to over ride the trans computer. Got the same on a RX8 auto, and let the power demand decide the gear. |

I use my paddles just about every time I drive. I like to hear the engine from time to time, and in slow driving conditions the transmission likes to keep the rpms super low, I'll shift around 3k when I don't want the engine to sound like a lugging diesel.

Now that I have the alpina TCU flash, I'd like paddles. Hopefully these steering wheels work
