M3 Steering wheel retrofit.

Hey folks,

So I got this E90 M3 Steering wheel with paddle shifters and was wondering whether if someone retrofitted it before on an X1 with the shifters working. Is it going to work?

I've seen a sports E84 wheel with paddle shifters retrofitted onto an E84 without one. But I'm not sure you'd be able to do it from an M3 given that it's a completely different transmission.

can you plz provide more info on this coz prior to this I thought this was impossible.. I have sports steering without shifters and love to retrofit steering with shifters that actually work. dealer told me that they can install the shifters but they will be there just for the show..

Do a search through the forums. It was either here or at bimmerfest. Might have been under the DIY section. All I know is it's been some but you need to replace the whole wheel, not just the paddles, and there might have been coding involved after the fact as well.
