Tire pressure indicators with winter tires....
I have winter tires mounted on rims, and installed them for the first time this year (we were south enough last winter that I just didn't use them).
They are working fine, but I'm not getting the usual dash warning for having rims without sensors installed on the car. While I don't mind, anyone have an idea why this might be so? Thnx, Moon |

I have the same situation, winter tires without sensors. If you do nothing you should get an initial warning chime and flashing yellow icon at start up both of which go out after a few seconds. After that there should be a small constant yellow icon in the upper field of the central display which you may not have noticed. That is all. Not worth installing the sensors for a couple months of winter driving unless you do not ever check tire pressure or feel that you need that feature.

The 18' XLine's wheels + sensors + runflats are 55lb a corner while my winter tires with Assettos and Blizzaks WS80 are only 46lbs.

I have a superior Canadian car. I don't need sensors. Also, my winter setup weighs in at about 35 lbs per corner.

I looked up the weight listed by BMW, and on my 18" standard, they list 75 lbs. per corner.
