Dinantronics Sport compatibility
Hi everyone,
I was poking around Dinan's site and explored the various piggybacks available to our small but mighty X1s. However it seems that there are none for the 35i? For example the Dinantronic Sport is compatible with n20, n26 and n55. The x35i is n55. What gives? BTW, anyone used this and have been satisfied? Any issues? |

For the money (and for the added power over the relatively tame Dinan tune), I'd certainly by buying a BMS JB4. If you want a flash tune, you'll have to have the DME benched-flashed first. After that, I'd be going the Android/MHD route for a fraction of the cost of the Dinan tune offerings. https://www.dinancars.com/product/d9...5i-n55-engine/

OK thanks. I checked out Burger JB options as well. Are they optimistic in quoting performance increases at the wheels where as Dinan's at the crank?
ie the JB+ and Dinan Sport both increases 4psi and yet JB is quoting 30whp while Dinan is 30chp. Uhh.... boost is boost right? |

I haven't read that Burger's dyno reads high, but I'm sure they're taking their best run in ideal conditions. You can see Burger's dyno plots of stock vs. whatever tunes/piggies. Those aren't made up...so even if the dyno reads high, it reads high for the baseline as well. If you're considering the JB+, honestly, installing/removing the JB4 is easy enough, and the benefits/features are much much more compelling imho. You get all the dash controllable options, along with double the power gain...ability to run different fuels, set boost limits, autotune, etc. Regarding the cost, always wise to consider resale as well. Regarding crank numbers...without pulling the motor and throwing it on a brake, I don't think you could necessarily get an accurate number at the crank.
