2014 xDrive 28i moonroof question

I'm confused from reviewing BMW USA site and talking to a couple of dealers. Does base model come with non-panoramic moonroof (single panel), and one can add panoramic one as an option or get it as part of the pkg? One dealer says it is all or nothing, the other says you get one by default and add panoramic.

Any information is greatly appreciated as I plan to order before holiday incentives dry out.

Thanks for the information!

All moonroofs are panoramic. You can opt for it individually or its included in the "ultimate" or "premium" packages.

Oh, and hi neighbor.

The only car that the panoramic sunroof is standard on is the x1 35I without any packages.

It is really nice BTW. I was looking for one without sunroof but had to get the sunroof because that was what they had. It brings a lot of light in.

The big sunroof is indeed a neat package. When/if summer is finally on the meadow, it might be worth closing the overhead screen. In the meantime, it does indeed brighten things up inside. A thing worth having.

I only had to close my shade on one occasion. I was in SOCAL and it was 35C (100F or so) and I have a black on black car, needless to say, the AC was yelling at me

no it does not come on the base model, but you can get it with the ultimate pkg or the premium pkg for the 28i. on the 35i it comes on the base model and up. well worth it if you get it on a 28i, its one of the features that most people like the most when they get in my ride. and plus i have coral red int with tinted windows, it really helps to make that red pop with the shade pulled back. good luck with your search, let us know what you decide on

Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks everyone for the quick reply. I'm going with the moonroof, it's needed in Northwest ;-)

I agree A worthwhile option especially for the MSport package with the Anthracite headliner... It brightens things up...

When we get ours tinted we will likely get a clear UV tint on the sunroof to cut down on UV light

The sunroof already has a UV tint from the factory. You won't get a sunburn but it will still get ultra hot. Also, all the windows are UV treated

And if you are new to Photochromic lens glasses, that is why they won't work in the car. they are UV activated...

I believe it stated this in the factory brochure from 2012. But it's also North American legislature that the windows can't cause people to get sunburnt
