Hello my friends, I just got time to post this thread.

As many of you read before, I was about to make the official retrofit of xenons to my X1, so a month ago I finally did it and I am more than impressed with the changes...honestly, a BMW with halogens is another car...

To sum up, I bought my xenon headlights from ebay and went to my dealer to install them...after all discussion, they received the official part list from BMW in order to install without any errors and problems. (They installed even level sensors and adaptive on curves function).

Does the $2,500 include all labor and parts? Do you mind give me the link to your ebay parts seller? Thanks a lot.

When I said includes assembly/install work, I mean it. I bought the headlights from ebay, but I bought everything else from my dealer. That's why I have official retrofit, no error codes, no warranty problems, no problems at all.

I left the other link to buy parts if you find someone to install everything.. in my country there is no qualified bmw non-dealers options.

One more question: other than 2 Xenon headlights (1 left and 1 right), I should also get all the parts you listed to finish the retrofit. Is my understanding correct?

How does that after-market upgrade affect your vehicle warranty? If your upgrade fails in the future, what then?

Vince.

Yes, let me clarify.

If you retrofit xenon headlights without all these parts with a non official bmw dealer, you will always get error messages and you'll break your warranty. (besides, level sensors, adaptative curves, etc will not work).

If you take all these parts to your dealer, he will do the official retrofit and you keep your warranty. I did it and everything is ok.

Response in my previous post my friend. If the official retrofit fails, it will be covered. Your BMW dealer did the retrofit.

This one is the "part number" used locally by the dealer to Coding the retrofit. Your local dealer will assign a number when they send you the quotes.

The second one is the light switch on the panel, I had the manual level, now the new one is automatic by sensors (no level dial)
