Canadian 2012 X1 28i Speed sensitive steering

I was wondering if you guys were experiencing a slightly heavy steering @ lower speeds ? I know it's a speed sensitive and it's a standard feature .In Europe they call it Servotronic.

I've got only 800km and may be it needs time to become smooth and easy

Or may be it needs to go back to the dealer for an adjustment .

Thanks

Yes, I experience the same thing. It's almost like there is no power assist at all at very low speeds (<5km/h). When I turn into (or back out of) my driveway, or a parking spot at work, I almost need two hands to turn the wheel smoothly. I've got 3500km on the car now. It's quite annoying.

I did talk to the service manager today and found out :

Servotronic is NOT a standard option in Canada and it's NOT even available in Canada as an option at all.On other hand it's available in Europe( Code 0209).

X3 is being equipped with servotronic though.

Dont think that will get you anywhere. Did you not try out the car before buying???

I personnally find that it handles great and it makes it feel sporty. You get used to it after a while and you dont even notice it.

Only one thing I would complain about is ,Why servotronic is not available in Canada and available else where ?

Otherwise it drives and feels great
