No major problems, only one little intermittent rattle from behind the steering column cover.

pereru, what's your experience been?

My complaint is that the system shows no info about the doors at standstill. Like in the VW mfd screen, but showing the current status at lcd might be good. It gives the beep signal similarly if you move with an open door.

My problems in 13 months:

-Steering wheel was not aligned properly at purchase. The car was going straight when the wheel was showing 20 degrees left.
-Rear door window lever mechanism changed under warranty.
-DSC button group broke 2 times.
-They messed the A/C cover trim while fixing the DTC button, cover trim changed.
-Rubber band of the windshield loosened all the way to edges while cruising on highway.
-Windshield removed a total of 3 times.
-There is a clicking noise coming from the steering wheel once every turn => Front axle heads changed under warranty, problem not solved!
-Driver seat clothing's stitching unraveled, solved at dealer.
-Auto A/C control panel's black paint removed because of no reason, control panel is going to be changed under warranty.
-Front doors isolated 2 times because of the rattling noise.

By the way I'm a psychopath that goes to dealer for every single problem, an average owner may not recognize half of those.

Uhh, that's all

Garage List
2011 BMW X1 23d  [7.66]
0kms, due to roll off production line on December 27th. Then it's another month and half wait (or more) while she sails downunder. Should make a nice five month wait at the end of it all - same time I waited for my 135i (which finally sold!)

My Renault Laguna GT tells me, as long as the ignition is on, if anything is not fully closed. It doesn't have to know why, it just informs me of the fact.

I agree that it must be annoying to be informed when the car is moving (I checked, you were correct).

Yes, I see what you mean. I agree.

That extra functionality would be good.

Do any other BMW models have that?

Hum... No, I don't think so. When you throw that much money in a car from a luxury manufacturer of German automobile technology, the slightest issue is not acceptable and should be dealt with by the dealer.

Looks like even BMW can build a lemon here and then...
