Front Bumper swap
Hello guys,
I would like to switch my front bumper for my 2012 X1 2.8i (picture 1) with the front bumper that the new 2015 X1 is equipped (picture 2). I would like to know if they can be swapped without any issues. - Will the fog lamps fit as well? - My vehicle is equipped with headlamps washers. Will those fit properly? - Will the under carriage mounting system be the same? I presume that they did not change much except the design outside, but still wanted to be sure before ordering one. Thank you. Last edited by Teutonic; 03-27-2015 at 01:23 AM.. |

It should swap no problems, but you'll need the Euro bumper to get the washers. New Canadian models don't get the washers anymore.

Yeah, I like that too but is costly since you must replace all the sides and rear; also many other parts are involved if you want to make the transition.
Not the last, in my color, I am not sure that will look that great... I still have the chrome accent on the window line, satin roof rails, which I actually love, so I just want to keep it that way. I actually like the three color scheme. |

I gave up the front bumper swap because on the lower silver lip the 3M film can not be installed properly due to its shape. The original lip is smooth and 3M can be installed easy. All my front is in 3M (hood, fenders, headlamps, fog lamps and lips) I know that the M sport bumper has different hardware as I looked into it as well. |

Both are non M bumpers. First picture is the X-line first model, second picture is X-line facelift (LCI). The swap between the top picture and M bumper which different than those two (see attachment) is not as easy as the M bumper requires different hardware. Just talked to the guy at BMW and for the M package they do have a "retrofit kit" but that is over 3000CAD (front + rear + color wheel arches, and that's not painted). |

Thanks,
About M bumper I know that is complicated. But i don't really like the M one except the wheels arches which are looking very well. Now i am interested in swapping from XLine old version to XLine LCI. Thanks. |

I bought a conversion front from ebay and the two fender flares. It fit perfectly. You need some plastic rivets and clips. The X1 M Tech front bumper was an exact replica of the OEM one, came with all the grills and the foglights. It cost $449 last summer. I don't see them on eBay right now though.
