Intakes for the X1? (petrol/gas)

I've searched online for a bit, and I can't seem to find any specific intake kits for the X1. Companies such as Injen, K&N, etc. do offer filter replacements that supposedly fits the X1. So anyways, just wondering if anyone here knows of an CAI kit for petrol/gas version of X1? Thanks!

Cros reference the part no for the airbox on realoem.com with other models ie 1 series i think will be fine and then find the k&n/BMC filter for that car. Thats what i did and found both k&n and bmc makes filters for the X1(abeit diesel)

Yeah, most of the ones I found are for Diesel, I guess since they are the popular choice for X1 in Europe. Sucks that no one has came out with an intake kit for the gas/petrol engine.

Are you wanting this for sound or HP?

There was a post on the F30 boards about a custom CAI; but it might draw in more hot air than anything else.

I agree with mabrahams.
The air intake on our x1 is right at the kidney grill. The only thing I might consider is the air mass flow increase might be beneficial. But thats just to help the engine to get a less restrictive air flow.

Or you can always buy this: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-16...20-engine.aspx

Which will put you closer to N55 (35i) HP/TQ.

I would prob. do a drop in filter, unless someone out there has some good numbers to backup a CAI.

The intake is to the right, and uses the kidney's to drive in air. I would take a look at how large the intake is; and maybe try to increase the size. If you want to make things even more detailed, you can try to smooth out any inconsistencies in the plastic.
