Comfort access for trunk
My wife and I just bought our first BMW - 2014 X1 with Ultimate package and Sport line.
This is the first time for buying a used car and a BMW. We love the look and feel of our SAV! I was trying out the comfort access and noticed that I don't have comfort access to the trunk. I read through the manual and it appears that there is no such access to the trunk. Just wanted to get verification from this forum. Thanks! |

I think I have it. It doesn't work great, but if I put my hand on the handle and pull, it unlocks after a slight delay.

I don't think you need comfort access to open the trunk. As long as the fob is in range, you just need to feel for that little bump (sensor) and hold for about 2-3 seconds. A power gate would have been a nice option for me, as I use the car for making small, local deliveries, and the hatch has been closed and opened so many times, both of the access ports on the rear bumper, and the license plate have fallen off. My experience with CA has been spotty. Sometimes it works the first time, sometimes I need to pull out the fob.

Comfort Access works just fine for the trunk.

You can install an aftermarket power lift gate. I did and it works fine, albeit a little loud. Can open using the button on the gate, the one in the remote, or the button in the driver's footwell. |

Comfort access for trunk
Thanks everybody for the reply.
By asking about comfort access to the trunk - I meant if the 2014 X1 has the ability to open the trunk by swiping your foot under the trunk which would pop open the trunk. |

No, as zeevette said, that's only a feature found on Ford vehicles.

More expensive BMWs do this as well.
