Looking at a used X1 35i M Sport today
Like the title says, I'm going to look at a used 2015 X1 xdrive35i M Sport in a few hours. Car has just shy of 20K on the clock.
Is there anything special or unique that I should look/look out for? Thanks! |

At 20,000 miles and a 2015 it should still be under warranty. I wouldn't be worried about mechanical things but rather see if some of the wear items will need to be replaced soon. Very good looking car. I also picked up a LeMans blue one.
I will say that since I have purchased the car I think I would have gone X3 if I intended to keep the coupe as a sports car. If this is a vehicle that you will eventually want to modify or you don't really need the space then the X1 is a great vehicle. It behaves like a lifted 335i wagon.

The test drive went well. Everything was good on the car - tires are on the way out (as you would expect) but have a little life left in them.
I enjoyed the car more than I expected, honestly. Tons of headroom, great seats, good engine sounds, nice power, etc. Yes, it's still under warranty, but only until this coming spring. How many miles on your X1, Turbod? |

The few things I noticed that I don't like is lack of storage and luggage space when someone is in the rear seats. I think this vehicle is a good compromise between a SUV and a sedan though.

The 8 speed is a lot better than the 6 speed for sure. It is really too bad that they didn't option the 35i with the 8 speed.

Looks like I'm going to be buying this - still working on the final price, but it won't be worse than $27,250, which is good.
The bad - it will be out of warranty this coming March, so I'll be shopping for extended warranties. |

Nice, pretty much what we have...but a '14.
If you ever want to get into tuning it, there's some good info on here, also, the E90 forums are very useful (the car is essentially an E90 335 xdrive underneath). Enjoy!

Look at the tires being toast as being good as they may well be the original RFT with many dislike. So you can replace them with go flats and get a get better performing tire.
Like most newer used cars what is the status of the airbag replacement? |

Yeah, it's got the OEM (I think?) Cinturatos on it. They'll be getting replaced with the Michelin AS3s, I think. I'll probably go 235 instead of 225 section width when I replace them, as well. |

52,000 miles on mine. No problems except for rust on the wheel hub.

My 2015 had rust on the wheel hub brand new - I wasn't happy with that, seems odd but just used a mesh brush to scrape it off.

Is it from a BMW dealership? If so, have them add a CPO to it and that will give you an additional year of warranty on it.

Hey hooligan_E84, I know the thread is old, but do you still have your 35i by any chance? Any issues over the years? I'm currently looking a at low mileage 2015 35i M sport as an upgrade from my 2014 sdrive 28i. My sdrive currently has low mileage, but I prefer not to deal with the potential timing chain issues later on down the road.
