I'm an accidental x1 buyer (23d)
story goes went to buy a Alfa 159 wagon (you have to admit this is a gorgeous car) but I'm to big for it (I'm 6'1, 85kg) so not really big but just couldn't get it set up right for me... so wondered around and drove a whole lot of different cars and thought i would take the x1 for a spin as it was next in line ... glad i did .. runs better then expected and if I get a performance upgrade (chip) then better again. |

I'm 63 and took delivery 2 weeks ago of a mineral grey xDrive 2.8i. Traded in my 2003 M-Sport 540i. I miss it, but I love my new X1.

38 and 1st baby on the way. This will be BMW #5 for me not counting my parents (my mom started things off with an E36, she has an F30 328i now). Wife wanted X3 over the X1 but didn't want to get rid of her 128i. Sold my 335i and ordered the X1 x28i M Sport (and got to keep my S2000). Compromise!
Wife refuses to even consider minivan. I think I will keep her. |

I'm 57 and told I look a lot younger . Don't feel or act that old but I just retired and have had the X1 for 2 weeks. We have an 09 328xi coupe with a manual trans for fun drives and the wife has an 09 Smart Convertible. I ride a Chopper I built. The X1 replaced an 09 Silverado

39, after 14 years with a Miata. Trying to be more practical and responsible. Still can't park it right in 1 try... but has been enjoying going (and buying) to Costco like never before.

55 here. Don't know why they are marketing the X1 as a young person's car. I live in LA and many people are tired of big, lumbering vehicles. The X1 demographic in other countries is pretty broad, I understand.

Curious how much this has changed so bumping this thread.
28, this is my 3rd BMW. First was an E83 X3 2.5i (dog slow), then E90 330i. Intent with my xDrive35i was to buy a perfect "everything" vehicle that had similar utility to my X3 and a little more go than my 330i. Hope to pick up a weekend toy M3 before I'm married too. ...annnndd Porsche Macan's are too expensive still. Waiting a few years to maybe consider one.... |
