iPhone 4 Not Automatically Connecting To The Bluetooth

Hi everyone

Another question for you

My wife had an iPhone 3G and it connected automatically everytime to the cars bluetooth as soon as she was in the car. She got an iPhone 4 this week and I paired it to the car just like I did with the 3G but she has said that it's not automatically connecting to the bluetooth.

I have the iDrive Sat Nav Pro, bluetooth with telematics. Any ideas?

Thanks as always.

Do what I did, bought a cheap Pay-as-you-Go phone, bought a cradle adaptor off e-bay and just leave it in the car permanently. Now my X1 has its own phone

My iPhone 4 connects automatically every time for 5 months now without fail. I have SatNav business with options 6NF and 6FL.

The rep paired it for me at delivery and he made a point of ticking a particular option that he said would make sure the phone connected automatically going forward.

Suggest you check the options on the pairing screen

Now that you mention it I had to do the same for my Nokia. As you say I had to choose whether to allow it to pair automatically otherwise I have to go through the menu and select one of the available devices.

Hi ya

I had another look and it was paired. What my wife was thinking was when her 3g was conencted there was a telephone symbol next to the signal strength bar.

No for some reason this symbol wasn't showing but the signal bar was there. I rang the phone and it worked. Turned the car off and went into the house. Came out, started up the car again a bit later and this time the little phone symbol appeared. It looks like a little phone with a star next to it. Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks again everyone.
