Programming Window Roll Up & Folding Mirror with Key FOB
Anyone outthere that has done this to the X1??....
I have seen videos of people programming their BMW's to modified the settings on the car and override the safety feature of "Rolling the windows Up" with the KEY FOB. Also programming so the side mirrors will fold every time you turn the vehicle off.....and a few other stuff...like modifing the way the signal lights operate... I'm just interested in the programing of the "Window Roll UP"...since sometimes you are at work and all of a sudden starts raining and you have to run to the car and roll the windows with the confort access (those days that you might crack the windows a little bit) I know I have the feature that "Ventilation Feature" since i have the nav....but in Germany...with a US spec X1...and I heard that Iphone remote APP doesn't work here....I haven't got the chance to register and stuff...my X1 still in the process of BMW owners registration. thanks!! This shows that you can open the windows with the fob, but doesn't explain if you can hold the lock button to also close them. Weird. |

Do a google for BMW coding. There is a whole forum dedicated to just this, alsoI think there are some posts about it on the 1 and 3 series forums. There are dozens of features that can be coded. You need a cable, a laptop and the software to pull this off.

Keep in mind, your dealer will give you 1 free coding session for things like this.

Terry Burger found the X1 to be similar to E82 so it is likely codeable in the same way. |

Anybody with their X1s having a window malfunction?
I'm a long time reader and I have searched through this forum for a similar issue like mine. For a few days this month I would find my 2013 BMW X1 windows open. Sometimes it's only the driver's window, but last weekend I found all four windows and even the sunroof open. I made contact with the BMW dealer and they have not heard of the problem. I read that some E90s had some issues. If anybody has experienced this and knows how to have it fixed please share the information. Much appreciated for the information. Thanks.

i know what that is.....it happened to mi MINI Cooper....check your battery voltage,..make sure you drive your car enough time to get it recharge...
posible things: battery not charged properly (meaning not enought time driving) or windows roll up module...the drivers door..has a main box for all the windows and is getting faulty...get it check and ask them to check that...believe me...it happened to me and in random ocasions...to the point that i had to disconnect my battery before i went on vacation...worring about that...and that's what it is.... |

I recall a similar issue with some E46s and the common cause was a failed/failing door lock actuator. That is, if it wasn't caused by the owner accidently pressing the unlock button for an extended period of time.

Oldieman, and everyone replying thank you. It is possible that the car does not get driven much- I will charge the battery today and check if it happens again. I have a company car that I use for work and the X1 stays home a lot. The first experience of seeing the windows down, I thought I had pushed the key button by accident, but after being more aware and checking on the car before going to bed I would make sure the car was locked and windows closed. I will keep people updated if it continues and what the dealership can do- hopefully it will be resolved.
