There's the standard X-drive, then the stuff you only get in the M-sport models. I know the latter really only affects cornering as it will slow the inside wheels and speed up the outside wheels hopefully causing the car to corner at a faster speed without out getting sideways.

I can't wait to see those number though. I wonder if the N55 turbo would fit on my 28i.....

My turbo upgrade is installed. The car is having difficulty on the dyno, we think because of the performance control m-sport programming. It is applying the brakes and rocking back and forth during the runs, cutting the throttle. As a baseline BEFORE the turbo, we got 340whp with the throttle cutting out (this is a dyno dynamics dyno, so add 10% for a mustang dyno and 15% for a dynojet). After the install it just wouldn't dyno, even with DSC fuse and ABS sensor connector pulled. However I can tell you that I am holding 20psi in the midrange and 17.5 psi @ 6krpm compared to only 11psi 6krpm so it is a huge increase in power. I am going to the 1/4 mile track on saturday and will report back with my times.

Here is an early test log of the turbo holding boost way longer than stock. This is with 19psi targets across (can do more, just was testing conservatively).

I am guessing I will wind up 21psi midrange and 18 psi up top for an aggressive 1/4 mile map, 19 psi midrange and 17.5 up top for road course and daily.

Did you pick up additional lag with the new turbo?

I cannot feel any additional lag on the street, looking at the logs looks like maybe 200rpm lag? Which is basically nothing. I mean we are at 19psi of boost by 2400rpm. What is extremely noticeable is the top end power. In day to day driving, I am used to have to depress the throttle more and more as rpms climb to maintain a stable speed (entering the highway aggressively, for example). Now, you just press the throttle and it pulls and pulls and pulls. It is a pretty big difference. I will be shocked if the car does not run 11.8 - 11.9 @ 115mph.

I am an X1 28i xdrive owner from China and I am wondering how are you going to fit those stoptech BBKs on X1?

My X1 is a discontinued 2010 model that comes with 3.0L N52 engine (amazing low-rpm torque response). And the brakes are the same as the current U.S. 35i model with the 348mm front disks.
My car already has 60000km on it and there is a slight brake judder so I guess it time for rotor replacement. I thought it would be nice to get an aftermarket system rather than getting it replaced with OEM stuff.

And as far as I am concerned, there is nothing on the market specified with X1 compatibility. The rotors and the caliper brackets do share the same part number as e9x 335i according to etk.com. But is there any problem such as interfering with knuckles or defunctioning the parking brake?

Hi, the 335xi kit from Stoptech should work fine. I have discussed it with my shop and their Stoptech rep. Make sure you get the Xdrive kit instead of the normal 335i kit, there are differences between those.

I am going to wait a bit due to price but I will do fronts first and then rear later. Rear non-xdrives work just fine.

Just ran a 11.930 1/4 mile @ 116mph. New N55 Xdrive record.

wow congrats. you may even take the f82 m3/m4 off the line as some tuned ones are having some traction issues. Try to see if you can get a mechanical diff in your car to lower your times even more!

I'm looking forward to your stoptech install. The dealers here sucks and they have to make order from US for 335xi kit so I am kind of scared to do it until I see your application succeed. In the meanwhile Im getting a bilstein b12 kit first, and possibly the subframe collar from here http://www.rigidcollar.com/manufactu...84--25i--10355

A 1.7 60' is looking good and so is the 25 mph gain on the back half. Now imagine running 9.60 on that 1.7 60' time and that's what I was getting on my bike.

Thanks, yeah this is already a faster 1/4 mile than a stock M4 as far as ET goes and if I can find another 2mph trap speed I will be equal from trap speed as well.

Kind of crazy a SUV that can hang with the new M4 from a roll

11's great run! Did you make these runs without seats and other items to cut weight?
How is the new turbo for daily driving?
Does your car have the mid cats? E85 or race fuel?

Lastly, what launch technique do you use... 1st gear or 2nd and what shift points?

Thanks!

Hi! Any hint why you decided Pure Turbo's Stage 1 over Vargas Turbo? Also... the flex fuel wires you have are because you use e85 fuel or there is another use/reason for the flex wires?

I don't really trust Vargas compared to Pure. I think he probably does his best but just does not have very good retail business practices.

paradoxical13,

I'm late to your party, but think you just proved why our X1's rock back and forth at high speed.

You had lots of rocking and cut out while dynoing, so with all that power the traction control must have kicked in.

Or did you guys think you had the DSC turned off?

My meager s28i was rocking like hell at 120 mph, and cutting out on corners, but I pretty much stopped that with spacers on front.

Some have said it's aerodynamics, but you didn't have air on dyno.

We had dsc off for sure. My X1 never rocked back and forth at speed and I have had it up to 155. I think I have mostly seen this report from the 28i, which could be because of less weight up front.

Here are my new winter wheels!
