Wind noise

When I am on the Interstate at 80 MPH, I am experiencing noticeable wind noise. Is anyone else having this problem? I am trying to figure out where it is coming from. Please don't say, slow down, I'm just interested in the wind noise. Thanks in advance.

Definitely a weakness of the X1. But I find it doesn't take too much of a twist of the volume knob to override the wind noise with music. I have the HK, though...

I think it's coming from the top of the A-pillar (near roof rail)? I thought it was the mirror but seems to be from higher than that.

Garage List
I think the noise comes from the windscreen being thinner than most, or it's just the way the window sill meets with the A pillar. The noise is quite loud though. Loud enough for me to turn my radio up to 11.

Yes, the wind noise is really strong.
When I got the car I was constantly checking the windows because I had a feeling that one of them was open.
(Even after 7 months I still have sometimes this feeling.)
The noise insulation in this car is the worst I found so far in the BMW range.

I have a question: How do you know the level of the volume? (This is one complaint I have for BMW: I never know the level of the volume because it's not displayed.)
Is there an option in the settings?

I think Twix was referring to that intellectual giant of movies, Spinal Tap. If you have not seen the movie you won't get the joke....but it is very funny.

I've got a roof rack on (whatever the low profile Thule ones are) and get a very slight whistle at highway speeds. Nothing overly noticeable or annoying, though. This is also with the shade for the sunroof/moonroof open so a tad less insulation. It has also been windy. I've had the roof rack on for a while so I don't have a good comparison. I would imagine it would go away if I took the roof rack off. My former MCS had the same thing but I always left the roof rack on.
