X1 Recall - Positive battery cable connection

I am due for an oil change and the dealership told me that I am due for recall for a positive battery cable. The advisor told me that it is not a big deal, it is just the positive terminal, however after searching the Internet I found this:

http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall...23157r-eng.php

In my appointment description it says:
The following services have been selected for this appointment:
10 CBS Engine Oil Service
61Z Electrical System Misc(1)

It seems that is not just the positive terminal it is the whole cable and I am not happy with this work (plastic covers removed and so on). Can somebody bring some light in this, eventually someone who had this recall done share with me what was done?

Thank you

What are you concerned about? I've never had a problem any minor recall work like this.

Yap, except sometimes they manage to break some litle things so the plastic covers will never stay in place. If they need to run the cable from front to the rear there are few parts that need to be removed and the cable must be installed nice and tight with the rest of them. I have seen butcher work done by some technicians in cases like this. Believe me, I know what I am talking about.

Mmmm, your call, you could say you don't want it done and pay later when the electrical system has issues and they decline to fix it. If you have concerns about collateral damage speak to the service department nicely about them.

My feeling is you have to trust them to do the work properly and inspect afterwards and get any issues addressed.

If it is a particular dealer that breaks stuff, go somewhere else.

Agreed, but your thread says X1, not 2012 X1 which is the only model the recall applies to.

Just checked today with my dealer. The recall affect only particular 2012 X1 model based on serial number.

Mine wasn't listed so minus one recall

Ok, so I had the positive cable recall done today. ( 61Z Electrical System Misc )

So what they are doing is they are cutting the positive cable from the fuse box (remove the glove box and the fuse box) and they are installing a new 30 cm cable which has a more ferm positive plug at one end (that is the actual problem because the old plug is small and can loose the contact with the fuse box) and connect it with the old cutted cable by clamping them togheter. After that they insulate it and install it back. The operation took 2 hours.
