Bmw n20 vanos

I started off with a rod knock sounds and just the VANOS code for the intake side so then I replaced the intake side VANOS gear and still had the same noise and issue. Then I got the code for the exhaust side too.

Codes: 2D55 VANOS Cold Start Not Controllable
2C58 Charging Pressure Control: Switch off as consequence
2D54 VANOS Exhaust Cold start Not controllable

After these codes the car was able to idle normally but on start up there was a noise that sounded like rod knock just for half a second. When applying any throttle the sound is just like rod knock too

After replacing both solenoids on the intake and exhaust the engine made the same noise and produced the same codes.

What else could be the issue?
