Fracking oil leaks!

Turbo oil feed line, Oil filter housing gasket, Valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket all need replaced.

Welp, looks like ramen for a while.

How many miles, what year, 35i? Hopefully they give you a break on the labor charges with all the work being done at once, maybe i'd suggest doing the water pump/thermostat while they have everything out since you'll be eating ramen anyways lol. Or if you want to stretch your dollar and save money, you could probably get away skipping the oil pan gasket, but this is probably bad advice haha.

Nope. No break on price. I tried at three dealers.

If that oil pan comes off, are you doing anything with the rod bearings while you're in there?

at 62,000 miles you're asking about rod bearings!? WHAT?!!?!? Cars in 1953 didn't need Rod bearings at 60,000 miles.... lol

Most likely, you'll never need them. It's just such a pia to get on there on x-drive... I think it's not an issue unless you track the car hard and get oil starvation episodes. I'll probably do mine prevetively for piece of mind if/when I have to do my oil pan gasket- but I plan on extensive power mods and driving her into the ground anyway, so it seems like a worth while insurance policy for me, haha!

That's pretty par for the course with the n5x 6-cyl engines from BMW. I'd consider those as part of maintenance. Don't forget to check rear seals. Sometimes those leak as well.

I'm wondering if a FMIC would help it happening again. At this point I'm planning on keeping it as i could never recover the costs.

Good luck w/ oil pan gasket. When I did mine I end up doing a bunch of extra stuff since I was already there. Specially most front suspension components/mounts/WP/t-stat. This is the only reason I might be keeping mine since I spent a lot and won’t get that money back. Lol

I still think its the perfect car for me. A bit of fun with some utility.

So we are staying married. It's just that we need some couples therapy…

I'd assume the only thing that would help is lowering oil temps.
