I added M sport rockers and fender flares to my X line e84. I actually prefer the chunky rocker panels compared to the x line. Figured it was best of both worlds. The heated steering is a must for Canadian winters.

When lowered it just looks right to me.

Not jinxing it. 78k on the clock. Still need to replace some gaskets. I saw trace oil on the front center jack pad but nothing on the garage floor . I have OFH and VC gaskets, just need time to do the work.

My 2013 X1 N55 with Ultimate package is the closest I've gotten to that old Z3 feel with only minor upgrades. This car is a true sleeper..
I'm also a Z3 owner and presently have a 2001 3.0 roadster but had a 97 clownshoe and loved it. When looking to replace my 28i X3 I wanted to get something smaller and liked my wife's X1 28i but wanted something more and love the BMW 6 cylinder so I picked up a 14 x1 35i M-Sport with 37K miles and love it. It is no Shoe, but is a close 2nd.

Also I bought the X1 from Carvana only after getting all maintenance records from BMW, and talking to the previous owner (Yes I'm good at research) and finding out the history from day 1. One of the nice things with Carvana is that warrantee they give upfront and I had my mechanic who is a BMW specialist go thru it with a white glove checklist and we found and justified about $2500 of stuff we had Carvana cover. It was things like oil pan and valvecover gasket leaks and other minor stuff like grounding strap etc. The car is immaculate, but the previous owner was in the Navy and the car sat for long periods and things dry out due to non use, so...

Would I buy again from Carvana or any of those type of services? I would, but research of the vehicle's past is critical and if things are needing to be fixed, they stand behind the vehicle is critical.

Brand new 35M owner

This is my 3rd e84. I had a base-ish sdrive model with ultimate package but hated the seats. I bought an xdrive S-Line for the 4wd and better seats. I seriously love the e84. It's the perfect child of an SUV and Wagon. I started thinking about what I wanted to own "forever" and decided I wanted something that will be the most sought after 10-15 years for now. I am of the opinion that this will be classic. The best of the best is a 35m xdrive with all the options, so I started looking. luckily, I live in SoCal so they come up fairly regularly.

I found one and pulled the trigger on it. I WAY over paid...an embarrassing amount really. when you're buying forever...who cares...you get what you really want....like what you REALLY REALLY want....and plan to keep it forever, does a couple thousand dollars matter? Not to me. How much is a unicorn worth? has anyone seen an e84 35M with tan interior? with 24k miles? Like I said...it's a unicorn.

I actually wonder if I could look up the factory specs by VIN....anyone know where I could to that?

I have 30 days to back out of the deal, so I'm having my mechanic look at this week. Fingers crossed.

Driving it home I could iMMEDIately tell the difference from my old sLine. The wife noticed too. The M is just way taughter. And I could tell the difference the extra cylinders provided. I could have been the gearing as well....but driving home on the freeway, the 35M just seemed ... I don't know....eager isn't right....ITCHING....It felt like it was ITCHING to be let loose. Which put a smile on my face. So the wife and I stopped for dinner and started looking up names for it. We ended on Astrid. As in...this car is Bad Asstrid.

IMHO, I have a very rare version of a car that will be considered a classic in 12 years.

I'm absolutely scouring this and all other forums for all information on the x1 and other N55 variants we can share with.
