Almost looks like current generation Subaru Imprezza wagon from some angles. That a good thing in my opinion. Current STI looks really bad ass. It will probably cost as much as STI and that suxs.

X1 is going to be a fantastic BMW SAV. Very modern , fluid design , great proportions and very individual to the other members of the X-family.

The engineers have done great work aswell offering the designers the freedom to develop a compact package , in real life this is not a tall SAV or indeed a chapter in length.
The chassis development team has turned out a car which defies it's appearence it's term as a Sports Activity Vehicle is well demonstrated as the car is very enjoyable to drive with excellent dynamics and sporting agility.

Interior is far from basic and customers will be able to choose their preference when it comes to configuring their car , either comfort , luxury or sport , an Aeropackage will also come available but not from launch.

The big seller in europe is expected to be the X1 xDrive2.0d

BMW X1 is a SAV that is going to stand out from the crowd.
It is a very exciting addition to the X family.

Scott, any idea on engines likely to be available for the U.S. and a timetable for U.S. availability? I am waiting patiently to see what this has to offer and hoping for good pricing. The wife is not so patient, might have to get a rav4 or something with good resale in the mean time.

X2. We just got back from a European Delivery and are hoping to do it again when my wife's car needs to be replaced. If the X1 comes with one of the 4-cyl turbo diesels offered in the European 1-series, we're sold. C'mon, don't make us buy an Audi TDI....
