Looking for a cheap daily driver lease - Recommendations?
Hey guys, starting a new position for work and don't want to put 100+ miles a day on my M3 for all the accounts in my new territory. The lease alone will probably save what I spend in gas for the M3 (not to mention I get more reimbursement on a newer vehicle.) I will still be driving the M3 once a week and weekend cruises.
Looking for a cheap/fun (200 or less) daily. I drove a mazda3 yesterday, 6 spd, wasn't bad, looking at volks, hondas and similar today. I don't want to be absolutely miserable for the next 2 years in my daily. Let me know what you've had a good experience with. Honda civic is looking like the cheapest at 180 month, no money down. Thanks in advance! |

I'm not really in a position to put much money down on a car to purchase as I just bought the m3. I've never leased, or purchased a new vehicle. Always purchased private owner, cash. So best with me as I'm new to leasing/buying new.

A lease you pay by the mile. BMW is .20 inside the lease over what your original agreement is 10/12/15k..whatever. But you are going to use some mileage. Consider a O down purchase, a friend of mine purchased a new Chrysler 200, 9 spd. auto standard equip. really nice car. Zero down.

Buy a newer preowned car with financing - 0 down. Get something like a Corolla or Civic and just make the monthly payments. By the time you're ready to sell, those cars don't depreciate much so you can sell it for close to what you paid. You'll get the equity you paid into the car back. You would have driven that car and paid much less than any lease. Stick to to Honda or Toyota and you'll be set - their resale values are very good.
I had a 2004 Camry which I purchased for $4k. It had 160k miles. I fixed a few things and made it look nicer - Replaced faded headlights, new shocks, tires... about $1k in parts. I drove it for 40k miles and then sold it for $5k. I pretty much got to drive the car for free for 2 years.

Can't go wrong with a Honda Accord. I lease my housekeeper a new one every year when I get the notice from DMV to renew the reg which is also around the time it needs its first oil change. Trading the car for a new one saves on that because new cars usually come with oil included and I don't pay a dime out of pocket at signing (only did for the first one). Payment has only fluctuated $20 through the last 8 cars.
Great car overall with features you don't find standard on cars 3x its price. |

Hyundai currently has pretty good deal on the Sonata. $179 per month for 36 months, $1,759 down. BMW also has a deal on the 320I, 279 per month 3k down.
