Camera is pretty good. Portrait mode hasn't been released yet tho

Am I missing something? All these people waiting on their phones to ship and I just walked into the store and bought one. In fact I did it a second time when I got my girlfriend's. My friend works at AT&T and she says they have hundreds of them back there...

Interestingly I DID get a message saying that my iPhone 7 was on the the way... three days after I got the phone. Not sure what to make of it but if a phone shows up at my door that I didn't pay for, they aren't getting it back.

Because the 7 is not difficult to find at all unless its jetblack. The 7+ is what people have to wait for

Verizon tells me the 7 is back-ordered until Oct. 19th, which is fine with me. I'm in no hurry. I will get one, though. I wouldn't upgrade from the 6s, but my 5s doesn't do some things I want it to.

I cannot do that until they offer full-price unlocked ones at the store. So far, a "carrier phone" has to be activated in store and my corporate account forbids that. Plus, I wanted Jet a black, 255Gb, 7+. They have not been in the stores yet around here.

I cared...can't you get one at the Apple Store? I think every phone they sell is unlocked.

Technically, no. Yes, the Verizon iPhones are unlocked...but cannot be sold as unlocked. They are missing some bands too.

Nearly all iPhone models sold on apple.com are “unlocked” — which means your iPhone isn’t tied to a single carrier. Your iPhone will be locked to your carrier only if you choose carrier financing from AT&T or Sprint.

That you can do, but those phones still don't support as many bands. Sim-free unlocked phones have different model numbers, than say Verizon unlocked or T-Mobile unlocked phones.

For most people, it really doesn't make a difference. But for those who travel, those extra bands may be worth it.

Apple usually, begins selling sim-free unlocked phones a few months after release.
