Estimated gas mileage
So I'm going with the sdrive X1 since I have no need for all wheel drive and it looks like it will weight about 3533. X1 in Canada with Xdrive is 3720 and xdrive adds 187 lbs in the 5 series. Since the 3 weighs 3461 with the same engine and transmission and gets 23 city and 33 hwy I 'm guessing 21-22 city and 31-32 hwy. Anyone notice that the BMW website now estimates the 2013 X3 with the N20 at the same as the inline 6 was at (19 city and 25 hwy). So much for greatly improved efficiency.

For X1, Canadian website says:
city: 10.2 L/100km (23 MPG USA) highway: 6.5 L/100km (36 MPG USA) Now that's for the AWD with N20 engine. I find it hard to believe the X3 N20 will be 25 MPG highway. I think that's just a typo erorr and carred over from the previous engine. |

I sure hope it's a error for BMW's sake. I was thinking the X3 with N20 would come in at 20-21 city and 28-29 hwy. I don't think you can convert the Canadian mileage to US because it's a totally different test. Can't imagine the kind of numbers you quoted whEn the X1 is slightly heavier and isn't nearly as aero dynamic as the new 3. Most of the posts in Canada say they are getting no where near those kind of numbers.

So based on that 22 city and 30 hwy sounds right for the sdrive.

I had a slow drive back to UK on the Highway yesterday at 110 Kph as was early for my ferry and the computer was showing 52.4 MPG on my 2.0L D X Drive, getting better the more miles she does.
