X1 Trailer Wiring

Hi guys

I'm installing a towbar onto my E84, but havent sorted out the trailer wiring harness as yet.

I'm hesitant towards dropping a heap of $$$ onto one of the X1-specific kits, are there any cost effective alternatives?

I am using CURT 56146 Powered 3-to-2-Wire Splice-in Trailer Tail Light Converter, 4-Pin Wiring Harness at Amazon for $29.99. Works fine on my 2014 X1.

Wiring harness:
1. Driver yellow (car running light) to brown harness.
2. Driver yellow/blue (car brake light) to red harness.
3. Driver blue/green (left signal) to yellow harness.
4. White harness to body ground.
5. Passenger blue (car) to green harness.
6. Battery + to Black harness.
