Everytime I say that, the stock has a solid 8-12% rally. I might get in before the split and then once the split happens, all the other investor/traders will be able to get in on it and the stock might go up, or it might go down.

Netflix has one of the largest deltas between gross and net in just about any explosive company I have ever looked at.

Edit: If I remember correctly they only net somewhere around 9-10% of what they gross.

Should have gotten out yesterday. We all pretty much knew this was coming. However my stop loss order never hit so I got stuck. I was too busy to do it myself by end of day

Its pretty nuts. I'm just glad I pulled out a while ago. Its just when every middle aged women and their maids are talking about stocks, you know its not a safe place to be.

How long did it take some of you more experienced traders/investors to become comfortable predicting trends, ups and downs, when to get in, when to get out, etc.? I was a finance major in college, but we were taught mostly how to value a company, and not as much on the technical analysis side. I feel overwhelmed with all the different indicators and how to correctly use them to identify where the market or a stock is going. Can anybody suggest a book to read in order to get a good foundation going? Your advice is appreciated, and hopefully I can contribute some thoughts here in time

Chris, As long as future 12 mo forward fundamentals are supporting the stock, I would say depends how low stock price is relative to indicies.

Some buys 52weeks high chasing the "chart break" and they break the bank. More over, some will get into 52weeks low and get into value trap as well.

When you do a technical, make sure you also add volume as a variables as well. Price, change in price, time, change in time, vol, change in vol.
YOu should factor in the options activities as well.
More varilables you add in, it will be more accurate.

BTW< Technicals are just used for entry and exit price , and short term trade. If someone is going after cap gains, Fundamental will be mainly used. On top of that, you can just do ta to find your comfortable entry/exit.
