Suspension and Ball Joint Fun!

I'm at 92k and getting ready to replace almoat all suspension bits. The ball joint is the part that seems the most fun and I've got MAP, Kroil, and an air hammer ready to say hi to them.

Most of what I read on the boards deals with getting the ball joints out, not in. Assuming I run a scotch brite pad and slap some anti-seize in the knuckle cavity before putting in the new ball joint....do I still need a press? Aeema the Xi's are different and particular about tooling.

About a year ago I did a big front end and suspension refresh, and I didn't need a press to put the ball joints in. Just slowly and evenly go back and forth as you tighten the two bolts that secure it in place.

This video helped me a lot when I tackled this project (the ball joint section starts at 7:18)

+1 ball joints are easy to put on. I've used a fork type wedge and a hammer to get old ball joint out. Proper size fork (there are many sizes) will get it out easily.
