I miss my X1

As some of you know, my X1 was wrecked a while back. I have replaced it with a M2, which is a truly phenomenal car. I love it every time I drive it.

That being said, I now realize just how special the X1 35i really was. I have been piling a ridiculous amount of miles onto the M2 (10,000 since April 20th) and I can't fit anything into the trunk due to the small opening, so I am looking for a practical AWD hatch as a daily driver. Unfortunately, I am discovering again that there really isn't anything even remotely close to what the X1 35i M Sport was. The Golf R is the only thing close but $40k is just insulting.

I am seriously starting to consider picking another one up. The problem? There are only 9 X1 35i M Sports in the entire country with a red interior on autotrader.

If you've got one, hold on to it. It's a special car. It's special enough that I actually actively miss driving it despite owning a M2.

Really, only 9 with Coral Red! Where did that number come from...? Alpine White with Coral red on my daily driver X1... have been running the PURE Stage 2 since Feb, its a great car and it rips! Not as refined, attractive as the M2 or as nimble I'm sure... hopefully you can find one out there

I should have clarified that there are only 9 available on autotrader with red interior!

Yep figured that was the case...
I did see a black w/ red for sale in NY with 65k miles for $25k... you can handle the engine maintenance to keep it running with the higher mileage. N55 seems to hold up well, just a few components seem to fail over time

Amen. Coral red leather is one of my favorite things about my car. It makes it special.

Garage List
I can't imagine what I would replace my X1 35i with, and it basic black with nevada beige interior. I haven't had it a year even and put 15k miles on it. It's acceleration is so smooth, and it feels like a beast with a JB4.

*edit: Ironically though, I could fit more in my Mazda 6 than the X1, but it wasn't nearly as fun or agile.

I feel the same with my Dinan sport tuner 28i. Not sure what I would buy that offers so much all around fun and utility. AWD, close to 300HP, Great driving feel and utility? Golf R if it sat a bit higher perhaps but not quite the same.

congrats on the M2

Yea, there's definitely nothing like the X135 on the market these days, except maybe the GLA45 which is smaller

Congrats on the M2. I think you may be missing how personalized you made your X1.

As a car guy, we dont seem all that content with our cars until it bleeds our personality / personal taste.

That being said, I've only been in the car game (realistically) for about 10 years now and I've had my X1 for 4 months. I can see now why people fall in love with these cars - which means a lot coming from my E90.

The only modern replacement / car that could top the X1 35i is a Porsche Macan. They havent come down in price enough for me to justify buying one yet though.

I saw a new Lexus RX, and it looks smaller in capacity than the X1. Don't understand that crossover/hatch with a fastback thing. Especially when the car isn't even slightly sporty.

Same here. I see an X428 or even 428 GC and I wonder why that purchase happened. I guess the owner fell in love with the styling, which is a valid reason

OP, your X135 was modified right? that's probably what you miss about it, not to mention it is a lot of fun to surprise people with an X1, rather than constantly having the high expectations that comes with driving an M car

Put a deposit on a Mineral Grey x1 35 w/ Coral Red this last weekend...
This is going to be a LONG week waiting for them to finish the CPO prep!

You mean NX surely? The RX is far larger than the X1.

Don't forget that the airbag recall is holding up alot from being up for sale. Once that gets all cleared, they'll show up
