Sportline Side Mirrors. Painted or black plastic?

I have a sportline and was wondering if the side mirror caps are painted black or if they are a black plastic?

anyone? or what's the proper way to pop the mirror cap off? That way I'll be able to tell if its painted or not.

I believe they are painted, I have a black sapphire X1 but the mirrors are actually a jet black paint
