Just Took Delivery

Wife just got her X1. First impression is that the suspension handles potholes nicely. Lighting package is worth every cent.

So what makes it identifiable as an X Line? Just trying to learn all the X1 model nuances.

Those particular wheels as well as most of the silvery bits in the lower plastic cladding around the car.

We are at 1500 miles and there's some pet peeves.

Does not connect with a Nexus 5. This a real downer since the BMW navigation is a pain to use compared to Google voice recognition.

The engine rumble at idle is noticeable and transmitted to the body of the car even in neutral. I don't know if it's by design or if the engine is poorly balanced.

Comfort access doesn't work occasionally.

The speedometer is off by 5%.

The eco-pro doesn't stay on after restarting the car. When it's activated, it says "eco pro tips" but there's no actual tips. It's as if the GUI was unfinished.

Anybody facing similar issues?

speedometer being off is something intentional, but can be coded to be correct. The dealer might be able to do this....

ecopro tips are in the app, and yeah, that screen is worthless. It hadn't noticed if it resets (don't tend to use it much)

you might want to have the dealer check the comfort access. I've not had it ever fail in 7000 miles.

engine idle is pretty quiet for me, though I have a 28i and not the 35. There us hood insulation I hear can quiet the engine down a bit. Haven't tried it myself.

as for the nexus, you might want to see if there is an update for your idrive (you'll have to go to the website and plug in you vin no to see) I know some users have been using a nexus 5 with the car ....maybe check for updates for the tablet as well.

Speedo bit is normal for all BMW. Your odometer will be correct though.

I have issues with my comfort access but only when it rains heavily or extremely cold outside. Other than that, it works without a hitch.

The idling thing must be unique to your car as I've never felt a rough idle in any 4pot BMW. My car makes a lot of noise on initial start up, but that's just the direct injection doing it's thing.

I can confirm on Eco-Pro one.. thought i was not clicking the right button but ya it says Tips but there's no going anywhere from there.. Also, the eco-pro gets resets once you manually restart your car but the auto start/stop doesn't mess it up.

BMW Navigation is fine so far except for one thing I noticed - I just couldn't get the option to put building number for Pacific Highway in Sydney (NSW).. also, I've noticed that it's not as easy as using maps in your mobile phone or maybe it's that I'm not yet used to it as I've just completed my first week with my X1 without any prior experience ..

Regarding engine - I'm driving sdrive18d so not sure so no comment!!..

Regarding comfort access, I have noticed it at times when I'm using it non-stop (meaning continuous on/off ) but other times not that I've noticed...

Not sure about the speedometer. Don't have anything to check it.

My Biggest disappointment (apart from others I mentioned in my other post) was my HTC One M8 is not recognised while trying to use BMW Connected app through central console USB as I don't have the snap-in adapter. But everything else works fine - music/office through bluetooth, music through usb.

Mine connects to my iPhone 5 perfectly. Nice to be able to play Bluetooth music without even taking the phone out of my pocket.

My comfort access will sometimes double chirp when I grab the door handle when the car is not even locked. It is rare and no rhyme or reason.

I have the X1-35i and I don't really notice any objectionable rumble at idle. However when I stomp on it - it makes a hellacious sound, but not objectionable.

I've only had mine a couple of weeks, and have the same problem with the comfort access. Works most of the time. I don't like the throttle tip-in delay, and the regen-braking drag, while coasting.

The tip-in delay is bothersome too. I'm really easy on the pedal but sometimes the delay causes the car to not go, but then overshoot. This is especially annoying in slow and go traffic.

In most of my other cars in neutral, the engine seems immediately disconnected. In the X1, you can feel the engine shake in the driver door. It's not noticeable on the steering wheel since I have electric power steering. There's definitely some serious secondary dynamic imbalance in that engine.

BMW really needs to take a lesson from Mazda and do cylinder position detection because its really rough along with a stronger starter motor.

I have xenons and the lights makes two weird edges in the middle instead of being a flat line. Is that normal?
