Picked up yesterday

Picked up my Alpine White on red brown leather yesterday. Essentially fully loaded. Went with the 17"/Dunlop Wintersport M3 Package.

Had originally picked up a Mini Countryman which I had planned on placing work-related advertising on. Had some problems with missing options from the factory upon arrival of the Countryman, which was duplicated on a replacement order (albeit with a different option). At any rate, my dealer handled things wonderfully and I opted to pick up an X1 instead.

My wife has a 2011 X5 diesel and am looking very forward to seeing how the 28i engine compares on fuel economy. I generally find the range calculator to be pretty accurate, provided I am not lead footed. Once break in is done, it will be interesting to see where the X1 settles in on fuel economy/range.

Will post pics when I have a chance, as it is going in for Venture shield and tint application.

Pics coming!!! Picked it up on the weekend from having extensive Venture Shield application and tint. Weather here has been quite mild, so the X1 is very dirty with all the melting snow. I'll get it cleaned up and pics posted.

The roads are being sanded and treated with salt due to a harsh winter conditions, usually 6-7 months a year . In order to protect your vehicle you need something like a 3M protection film against the roads chips and such ,otherwise you will need a new paint for the front elements in a couple years

I had a pretty extensive application done from a friend of mine. The entire hood, both front fenders, front bumper/spoiler, behind each tire, A pillars, and above the windshield.

I am not sure why, but it seems like our city has opted to increase the size of the sand/pebbles/gravel they put down for traction. I think I should have had half a dozen rock chips by now if not for the film.

Smile

Does it work out cheeper than a flash re-spray every few year or so ?
Winters not kicked in for us in Northern Europe yet, not even getting much frost so can live without this expence for a while...Bet it snows when I get my X1 in Jan..

I definitely think so. I don't like paint being redone and always try to preserve any vehicle I purchase in as close to Day 1 condition as possible. I have done this film application on 5 vehicles now and never had a single rock chip. This time I even opted for the windshield hardener application that provides unlimited windshield replacement as well as minimizes chance of a rock chip.

Hi BB, is that for the full body kit?

Seems a bit pricey if its just the 3M film.

There is a photo on the right side of the link with the red bits as the film. I will look around here in Holland when I get the car for better price but it seem a worthy investment
