How long does it take to order?

My SA told me today that the X1 is made in usa and will only take 4 weeks to receive once ordered. But everything I read online here is saying that it's made in Germany?

Does anyone know how long it will actually take to custom order a X1 35ixdrive msport?

Thanks!

Your SA is an idiot. Your German X1 delivery will depend on when they can get a production slot but assume you'll receive it about 4-5 weeks after that. One week to produce and get to a German port and about 2 weeks to hit the US once it ships. It then goes to the distribution center depending on where you live (mine went to Brunswick,Ga) and its been there about 4 days. Again maybe 4 weeks east coast but a couple weeks longer for west coast.

More like 6-8 weeks from start to delivery. X1 are made in Germany but will soon be made in NC no set date or year yet.

All signs point to no on X1 being made in the US, it would not make sense to for them re-tool a new factory at this late LCI stage. Especially when they recently built a new X1 factory in China to handle Asian sales.

Search autotrader they have 2 listed one in Bloomington in and another one but I forget where and what options, I just ordered mine and it's going to take 6-8 weeks, at least it gives me a chance to enjoy my vert for a little while longer or maybe even sell it and not loose my shirt on the trade.

The BMW plant is not in North Carolina it's South Carolina and the X1 will not be made here. Maybe for the next generation in about 2016 but I doubt it because they already sell most of them in Europe and are getting ready to make them in China. It's possible it will share a chassis with the next Countryman so maybe even Austria production if BMW keeps that relationship. My 2007 X3 was built in that plant in Austria.

Due Charleston Sept 30

Trucking to Houston from Charleston via Waggoners Trucking 24-48hours after the VPC releases it (Based on my experience with my Mini Cooper S coming through same VPC)

To revive an old thread-
-Ordered an X1 on July 25th.
-Car went "into production" and I got my VIN on August 7th.
-BMW says it is "scheduled for completion" on August 22.

I ordered May 28, still no car and I'm beyond unhappy with BMW thus far. 6-8 weeks is fair. Your dealer can look up country wide inventories and perform a trade for a loaded car if 1 is available. Colour choices will probably be limited to white, white or blue. Since those are the dominant m sport colours being bought

Around 24 weeks in total. It took forever to get the car, and what arrived wasn't what was on the order, so it had to be re-ordered.

Grovsnus had me beat. I'm solidly I'm second place for worst ordering experience ever. I wouldn't have waited 24 weeks, that's for sure. I'm ready to pull the chute after 12 weeks.

Calgary BMW. They're both owned by the Dilawri (sp?) Group. Same owner, same type of people.

Although they are quite nice, it seems as though they can't track orders very well.

Just got word today that it should "be any day now" the sales manager also told me that being it in September wouldn't work for him. So I gave them a 1 week window starting tomorrow

WTH?

That would be cool if you did get a free SUV. They are only like $20K-$30k anyway right? Very entry level prices on BMW's.

I wish they would have had this type of pricing when I was in college..
