Doubt it, they should Issue an immediate drive stop like Porsche did with the GT3 if that is actually the case.
Just imagine someone cruising on the highway and an M4 diff just lands on his windshield. That would be a disaster |

More importantly, if we do indeed have a fix, I don't want it to be a quick fix that doesn't fully correct the issue. That doesn't help any of us. My car will be at the port tomorrow sometime and it will join whatever queue that's begun forming. Does this fix have to be done at the VPC? Or can they load it all up and send the car and part to the dealer to take care of?

They're not falling out!!! My dealer gave me the all clear to pick up from service. BMW NA gave them the all clear - it's a noise issue, not a safety issue.
They said once they have a fix, I'll bring it back. If BMW NA gave them the ok, it's not possible that these are falling out of the cars! |

Where can I find the list with 4000 cars? (I suppose that the list is for all cars not just us ordered)

The dealer didn't release my car in lieu of the stop order. They were advised by BMW NA that it was not safety related and was able to be released.

If there is mechanic noisy, there is heating. If there is heating all things expand. If they expand then will break. |

If this somehow turns out to be true, I'll come back and take my licks, but until then, it's ridiculous. Maybe not trolling, but the Welt rep was clueless or it got messed up in the translation. That notwithstanding, nice looking car! |

My vin is not in the initial 200 list, but my CA emailed me today and gave me the bad news. The car was unloaded this past Sunday. It is currently in the processing center at Port Hueneme.

just texted David @ STBMW, his response "spoke to the head of M for the Americas today. No resolution. No timeframe"
Because they are German, and I work for a German company, i'm going to assume they have a plan but it cant be shared yet. Just sent an email to 'Ludwig.willisch@bmwna.com' / President of Bmw North America Last edited by drexplode; 07-26-2016 at 08:52 PM.. |

There is no eta on the fix so I will try to wait. But I am not sure if I want to wait for over a month. Let's assume that the fix may take a while and I want to walk out of the deal, is this possible without incurring any financial penalty?

If not - I believe the contract is not final until BMW provides you with something in exchange (i.e. you take delivery). I would talk to BMW first and see what they say, however. They might make it "go away" without a fight. |
