Unhappy Run tread tires on 2007 328xi

I just bought a low-low mileage 2007 328xi with bridgestone run-tread tires after turning in my 2000 528i that I drove for ten years. Someone in Service told me the Continental brand of run-treads is a little softer ride. I can't get used to the ride with the ones on the car----feeling all the bumps, it drives like an economy car rental. I was just wondering if I change the tires to normal air tires, will the ride be any smoother? Does anyone have experience with different kinds of tires for this model? I don't know what to do. This just isn't the ride I was expecting in a BMW. I thought I'd get used to it but I haven't. Maybe the car is better suited to a a young guy?? Please advise. (I'm a middle-aged woman.)
