E84 v F48

This article sums up the basis for me buying a 2014 E84 earlier this year rather than wait for the F48. I didn't have the luxury of driving the F48 first, so I was just relying on conjecture that lack of hydraulic steering and rear wheel drive bias would result in a less enjoyable ride. This article made me feel better about my decision.

Interesting article - thanks for the link.

I'm thinking of changing car later this year and although the new X1 looks really nice, seen a few around our neck of the woods, I doubt I'll get one.

Having owned a rear-wheel drive 1 series an X1 for 2+ years but having to occasionally use front wheel drive rentals due to work I really don't want to go with front wheel drive, even if just Xdrive biased to the front. May have to look at X3 methinks

Had I never driven an E84 X1 I probably wouldn't have cared, as all of the other SUVs I was looking at where FWD based. But now I'm remembering just how much more enjoyable a RWD based vehicle is.
