VRSF DP and charge pipe (...2 on the charge pipe, first car was totaled) here. No problems with either. Burger tuning sells a Phoenix racing charge pipe cheaper, but I don't know that I'd go that route. XPH or VRSF sell them for the same price normally.

Zero for me, and I pull into a garage. I normally back in so when I do I'll reply here, but that's a whole other can of worms.

VRSF is on the lower end of quality and price. With that being said most people don't have issues with their chargepipe. I have not seen their V2 downpipe in person but their V1 was pretty bad inside. I ended up switching it out for another brand. The smell wont be as bad since we still have secondary cats.

Interesting, I don't recall the inside of my downpipe being bad.

Between the downpipe and the resonator, just behind the transfer case/ transmission. I have a VSF downpipe and it looked nothing like that. It was smooth and I really could see zero welds at all. That looks like crap.

damn, i didn't know that. Is there any performance on the table if those secondary cats are replaced by some straight pipes?

I swapped it out for the N54tuning DP. He no longer sells them which is a shame but they were a great piece and the same price as the VRSF.

They are welded in the only tail pipe section of the exhaust. I'm sure a custom cat back system could be a benifit but you start running into drone and noise issue. Look in this 135i thread for more info.

I run an AR catless downpipe into Borla 60503 front pipes that are made for 335 installed to get rid of secondary cats and then have vibrant resonators into a Magnaflow muffler and then into a modified 135 Active Auto Gen 1 rear section. This setup allowed me to keep stock system all together and not hacked up for future use.

Are the Borla 60503 front pipes direct bolt ons?

Yes, they bolt right up, you'll just need some custom work to weld into the remaining part of the exhaust. I have vibrant resonators in a similar location to the secondary cats and then into a 2 into 1 Magnaflow small muffler then welded into a slightly modified 135 rear section. Also, modified the large under carriage brace to allow for wider pipe clearance as I didn't want to crush the pipe to clear the stock mounting of the brace. The brace is actually pretty cheap if your worried about modifying the brace. I was going to run a dual exit out the rear, but I have a hidden execu hitch to mount my bike rack and it limits my space. I have all stock components and they are not hacked up and could mount up again if ever needed. I'm better off with the single as it only coats the one half of my car with soot! haha

So I just found out that the previous owner paid for BMW maintenance package which is good for another 33,000 miles or almost 2 years. Will changing the downpipe and chargepipe and adding a JB4 void that?

Maintenance, not CPO? Those have nothing to do with the maintenance (outside of making it need maintenance more frequently, lmao). Just means they'll see aftermarket performance parts are on there when they do the maintenance.

Edit: I just realized my rep is -49 due to a posting infraction in 2016. That's awesome.

Thanks! Not cpo. He had an extended warranty as well but I bought the car from a dealer. I'm going to contact BMW to see if I can get that warranty in my name somehow.

If you want to keep the warranty, my personal opinion is to wait. The warranty can't be voided, but warranty work can be denied if they can show it is due to the modification. That being said I still have CPO for 2 years I believe and I'm not worried about it.
