Hi All
A merry Christmas and a prospers new year to all from a new Scottish member.
My new X1-XDrive 1.8d should arrive some time in January, hope it goes as good as I think it looks!
Can any one tell me if the Start Stop system can be switched off?

Hi Sailor,

Only 6MT X1s are fitted with the start/stop function, since Borusan only exports steptronic to Turkey, there aren't any X1s with start/stop in Turkey I'm editing my previous post to make it clear.

Hi William, welcome here. This forum is full of relevant info on the X1, more so than any other site on the web.

Hi William & welcome to the forum from another scottish member. I have only had my X1 xdrive 18d for 11 days. The stop/start system can indeed be switched off via a button on the centre console. There are also various situations when the system will not work. The main one being if outside temperature is 3° C or below. With the recent weather in scotland it hasn't activated at all on my car!

The car goes well & it is hard to tell the difference in power output of the 18d engine with the 20d. Only concern with car is with the tyres. You may have read the other threads on this matter.

Thanks all for the warm welcome, looking forward to picking up my new car next Month.
I went for Jet black as it looks nice with the X Pact satin roof rails, my other options were xenon lights / Auto windscreen wipers and lights on, plus the heated steering wheel option.
Hope to post some pictures when it arrives.
