New exhausts

Does anyone knew if ANY company is making an aftermarket exhaust for the X1 yet? I was trolling the net the other day and saw Remus makes exhausts for most models, EXCEPT the X1. I guess us X1 owners are the forgotten step children again?

Thanks for the link! Price isn't to bad either, now to find someone who has it just to hear how loud they sound.

Supersprint has had a "coming soon" listed exhaust for the x28i for months but nothing for sale.

I was looking at my stock exhaust closely and it has a fairly large pipe diamter so no increase there. It also has that vacuum baffle flap in the inner pipe which would be nice to eliminate.

The Remus site notes "not for M-tech or panoramic sunroof models"...??

The website says 1065 Euros rather than dollars, that would be about $1450. It is not available for the X1-35i. http://www.hartge.de/

I think I remember reading somewhere that the 1-Series and X1 exhaust are essentially identical. So the aftermarket 1-Series should work. But obviously need to verify that before buying!

I actually wouldn't mind replacing the X1 exhaust simply for the fact I don't like how the exhaust looks from behind the car. The big boxy muffler looks bleh! And it is very visible.

So this baffle opens when the throttle is really pushed?

This is like the old "golf tee" modification on e46's, pull off the vacuum line and plug it with a golf tee to keep the flap open. The X1 vacuum line has a strange "docking station" on the end which defeated me on my initial attempt to remove...will make a serious attempt at it today.

Ahhhh, been down that road with a long ago VW Bug that I fitted with an extractor exhaust; it sounded great in town, but got mighty drony on a long highway trip. At the time I thought, gee, be great to turn it off and on.
So I understand exactly why BMW sets it up as they do, tho' I do like the way mine growls when you really get on it...something I haven't done much due to the low miles.

On the 35i, the axle back portion is similar but not identical to that of the 135i .....you would have to do some slight re-routing for one to work. I had planned on doing so and have a Berk 135 axle back to use, but I doubt it'll happen for a while now.
