Picked up new ride yesterday!

Valencia Orange over Black x1 35i M sport. Love it, drove great, got compliments on the color already too. However, checked the tire pressure for the hell of it and it was @ 56psi on all 4 tires! Are they NUTS at the dealership?

Congrats on a great car.

I take it you checked the pressure on cold tires, i.e. not right after driving, nor parked on hot tarmac?

Cold, the pressure on an M-Sport 35i should be 41(front)/44(rear), assuming you have staggered 18" tires. Somewhat more for 19". Adjust up or down a bit depending on altitude, weather and road conditions. I like my fronts slightly lower.

Sounds pretty sick! As for tire pressure, something in the 45-50 range would be about right for cold tires. if thats after driving home - bleed a little air out! :O they're nuts!

Is the PSI spec'd that high on 35i 18s? That's kind of nutty high for cold pressures.

No, it's the specs for the 35i M-Sport with increased top speed limiter (149 mph instead of 125 mph, IIRC) and staggered 18" high performance summer tires.
With AS tires or without the increased top speed, the pressure should be lower.

Yes, they were cold. Checked them first thing in the morning. My door sticker says 35 front/ 41 rear - I have the non-staggered 18" Pirelli A/S RFT's....

Yeah, the AS tires should have less pressure, and 50+ is definitely way to high for those.

My advice is to go to a service station with nitro and get them filled to the right pressure, and then reset the pressure sensor monitor. Nitro will cost you a few bucks, but the tires will hold the pressure better, so you don't have to overpressure to compensate for 3-4 months of future driving.

Wow those all sound high. My 28 M Sport with 18" staggered summer performance says 35 front and 38 rear. My E93 335 with sport package with staggered 18" summer performance says 32 front and 39 rear.
