Seals creak
Several months age I had my car treated with Carbaflo for creaking of the door seals. After the treatmant the car was silent. My car is now out of warranty and I have heard Carbaflo is no longer available. Has anyone encountered this, if so what was your solution. Ayone else with ideas please chime in, I feel like I'm driving a creaky old wooden boat.

Check your dealer's part counter. The BMW part number for Carbaflo Sliding Lubricant KSP 105 is 83 23 0 309 627. It's expensive.
Before you use it, clean the surfaces including the flocking on the door with 3M adhesive remover. You can further prevent creaking by avoiding silicone based waxes being applied at the door seal area. If you use an automated car wash, I'd avoid the spray wax. I haven't had reoccurrences of creaking in a long time on both of our BMWs. |
